Odisha school bags 1st prize in National Inter-school Band Competition 2024

Bhubaneswar: Droupadi Girls’ High School in Nishaposi locality under Thakurmunda block of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district won the 1st prize in the pipe band category in National Inter-school Band Competition 2024, which was held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi on January 21 and 22.

The girls’ pipe band team was felicitated with a trophy and a certificate including a cash award.

On the valedictory ceremony, Chief Guest of the event and Secretary of Union School Education & Literacy department Sanjay Kumar highly appreciated the strong motivation of the winning team.

Worth mentioning, the school from Mayurbhanj had previously bagged the first prize on November 16, 2023, at a state-level band competition held in Odisha. It also got the first place in another inter-school band competition held on December 22, last year at Government Boys’ High School in Unit-9 here. The school was nominated for the national level competition after winning at the east zone level.
