Odisha: School dropout rate stands at 4.75%, Nabarangpur highest among dists

Bhubaneswar: Dropout rate in upper primary schools of Odisha stood at 4.75% in the year 2019-20 while the figure for primary schools during the period was 1.53%, informed School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash in the Assembly today while replying to a question by Loisingha MLA Mukesh Mahaling.

Highest dropout rate in upper primary schools was registered in Nabarangpur district with 13.35% while Gajapati recorded highest dropout rate in primary schools at 5.28%.

On the positive side, Kendrapara, Sambalpur and Khordha districts reported zero dropout in upper primary schools while the figure was nil for Angul, Bolangir, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jajpur, Khordha, Nuapada and Sambalpur districts in primary schools.
