Odisha: Security Guard, 16-YO boy die as school gate falls on them

Rourkela: Two persons, including a minor boy, were killed after a huge iron gate of Vikash English Medium School in Sector-9 area here fell on them early this morning.

However, under what circumstances the iron gate fell on them is yet to be ascertained.

The deceased have been identified as Gandhiram Rout (58), who worked as a security guard at the private school, and 16-year-old Suresh Choudhury, son of another security guard.

While one of them died at the spot soon after the mishap, another succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) here.

Meanwhile, Rourkela police reached the spot and have initiated an inquiry into the incident.
