Odisha sees further dip in daily COVID cases with 5,057 fresh infections; TPR drops to 8.2%
Bhubaneswar: Odisha today saw a further dip in its daily COVID-19 cases as 5,057 more persons, including 667 aged below 18 years tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. Yesterday, 5,901 cases were reported in the state.
With the fresh infections, the state’s total caseload today further surged to 12,36,226, including 64,217 active cases.
Khordha district registered highest 1,111 fresh infections, followed by Cuttack (495) and Sundargarh (425)
As a total of 61,635 samples were tested in the state yesterday, the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) for the day stood at 8.2 %. Of the total fresh cases detected from all district, 2,932 are quarantine cases and 2125 local contacts.

Meanwhile, 10 more infectees succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 8,560.
As per the information shared by Health and Family Welfare Department, two patients from Khordha and one each from Mayurbhanj, Puri, Rayagada, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Bhadrak districts succumbed to the virus.
