Bhubaneswar: Odisha today witnessed a further sharp drop in its daily COVID-19 cases as 2,697 fresh infections were detected in the last 24 hours. With this, the state’s total caseload today further surged to 12,62,102, including 30,493 active cases.
Yesterday, the state had reported 3,629 fresh cases.
The new infectees include 435 in the age group of 0-18 years. Of the total fresh cases detected from all 30 districts, 1568 are quarantine cases and 1129 are local contacts.
Khordha district registered highest 513 fresh infections, followed by Sundargarh (291) and Cuttack (138).
As a total of 60,762 samples were tested in the state yesterday, the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) for the day stood at 4.4%.
