Bhubaneswar: Odisha today witnessed a significant drop in COVID-19 daily cases as 170 persons, including 24 in 0-18 years age group contracted the deadly virus during the last 24 hours. With this, the state's total caseload today further surged to 10,42,943.
Of the total fresh cases detected from 20 districts, 98 are quarantine cases and 72 are local contacts.
Khordha district that had been reporting daily infections in triple digits today saw a sharp fall, with detection of only 61 cases. Similarly, Cuttack added 19 fresh cases.
As 55,743 samples were tested yesterday, the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) for the day stood at 0.30 %. Yesterday, 351 cases were reported in the state.
Meanwhile, three more COVID patients in Bhubaneswar and Mayurbhanj and Nayagarh districts succumbed to the virus.
