Odisha shivers as night temperature drops below 10 degree C at 7 places

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave condition prevailed across Odisha with 7 places recording below 10 degree Celsius last night.

As per regional meteorological centre of IMD’s observation, G Udayagiri stood at 6 degree Celsius becoming the coldest place in Odisha followed by Phulbani (6.6 degree C) and Daringibadi (7.5 degree C).

The night temperature dropped below 10 degree C at Kirei (8.2 degree C), Chipilima (9.2 degree C), Jharsuguda (9.6 degree C) and Bhawanipatna (9.6 degree C).

The mercury dipped to 10 degree C at Ranital, Angul, Sundargarh and Koraput yesterday night.

Similarly, the night temperature was 10.4 degree C at Keonjhar, 11 degree C at Similiguda, 11.6 degree C at Nabarangpur and Hirakud, 11.9 degree C at Sonepur and Mahisapat, 12 degree C at Nayagarh, Boudh, Bargarh, Balasore, Baripada and Dhenkanal.

The Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 14.2 degree C and 13.6 degree C respectively last night.

According to Bhubaneswar MeT, the cold wave condition gripped entire Odisha under influence of north wind. The night temperature is likely to rise by 2-4 degree C from tomorrow due to Cyclone Mandous that is expected to hit Tamil Nadu in the midnight.
