Bhubaneswar: Cold wave swept entire Odisha with minimum temperature in most parts decreased by 3 to 5 degree Celsius on Wednesday night.

Daringbadi in Kandhamal district was the coldest place yesterday night at 3 degree Celsius. The temperature was reduced by 5 degree Celsius in Daringbadi, which is known as Odisha's Kashmir.

Ten places recorded below 10 degree Celcius yesterday night. While Phulbani recorded 3.5 degree Celsius, Hirakud 8.1 degree Celsius, Bhawaniptana, Sambalpur, Sundergarh 8.5 degree Celsius, Balangir, Jharsuguda 8.8 degree Celsius, Angul 9 degree Celsius and Koraput 9.6 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature in Bhubaneswar was 11.8 degree Celsius, Sonepur 10.2 degree Celsius, Keonjhar 10.3 degree Celsius, Cuttack, Balasore 11 degree Celsius, Titilagarh and Chandbali recorded 12 degree Celsius.

According to IMD forecast, the weather in Odisha will remain dry. The cold wave is intensifying because of the wind blowing from north-east direction with speed of 25-30 kmph.

The mercury dropped by 2-3 degree in coastal Odisha due to cold wind from north-east direction. However, the temperature is likely to rise from today, said Bhubaneswar MeT Director Sarat Chandra Sahoo.
