Malkangiri: A case of a minor girl of a residential school in Odisha being impregnated has again surfaced. The shameful incident has been reported from tribal-dominated Malkangiri district.

The accused identified as Parshuram Padiami allegedly established physical relationship with the 11-year-old girl on the school premises by luring her.

This April, the minor girl studying in Class VI of Potrel Residential School managed by ST and SC Development department of the state government found herself to be pregnant owing which she intimated her parents.

Her parents obtained TC from the school and took her home.

Potrel police arrested the hostel cook – Parshuram Padiami – accused of the crime yesterday after the victim’s parents filed an FIR.

The accused was sent for medical examination and forwarded to court.

Today, the victim was sent for medical examination and her statement was recorded under Sec 164 of CrPC.

“A case (62/17) has been registered based on complaint by the parents. We had sent Parshuram Padiami for medical examination yesterday. The minor girl was also sent for medical examination and statement recorded today,” Investigating Officer Santoshi Barik said.

The incident has taken place at Potrel under Korukonda block in the district.
