Odisha: Shopkeeper dies after customer attacks him over feud in Bhadrak

Following the incident, tension prevailed in the village as locals demanded immediate arrest of the accused and stringent action action him. 

Bhadrak: In a shocking incident, a shopkeeper reportedly died after a customer attacked him over an argument in Odisha’s Bhadrak district today. The deceased was identified as Bijaya Panda, a resident of Bania village and the accused Kamesh Parida of Baralpokhari.

As per reports, Panda owned a grocery shop in Baralpokhari in Charampa. On Wednesday, he opened his shop at around 10.30 am when Kamesh came over to buy groceries. Kamesh then bought items worth Rs 180 but offered to pay Rs 140 as he did not have money. However, Panda did not agree to entertain any debt early in the morning and demanded the full amount. When he asked for full payment, Kamesh got furious and pushed him in a fit of rage. Unable to resist the blow, Panda fell unconscious to the ground. Hearing the noise, villagers nearby rushed to the spot. While Kamesh managed to flee, neighbours rushed Panda to Bhadrak hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.

Bhadrak police on getting information reached the spot. An FIR was registered after one Neelima Panda of Bania village filed a complaint against Kamesh. Following the incident, tension prevailed in the village as locals demanded immediate arrest of the accused and stringent action action him.
