Odisha: Singhadwara declared no-parking zone

Puri: To ensure a smooth flow of traffic in front of Srimandir and in the vicinity and maintain discipline during darshan, the Puri district administration has declared Singhadwara as no-parking zone.

As part of the initiative, the district administration has launched an eviction drive to remove all makeshift stalls in front of the Sindhadwara and in the surroundings. Neither two-wheelers nor four-wheelers will be allowed for parking in the area, said an official.

Besides, district Collector Jyoti Prakash Dash has directed officials concerned to strictly enforce traffic regulations on the stretch and shift beggars from the Singhadwara to other places.

Meanwhile, the district administration’s move has been widely appreciated by servitors and devotees in the pilgrim town.
