Odisha: 23 persons test positive for COVID-19 in Khordha, Gajapati

Bhubaneswar: As many as 23 persons including two women today tested positive for COVID-19 in Khordha and Gajapati districts.

As per the Khordha district administration, 19 persons tested positive for the virus. The administration further said two more patients have recovered and are being discharged today.

In Khordha district, swab was collected from 180 persons today. Official sources said the administration has so far received swab test reports of 155 persons.

Meanwhile, four COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Gajapati district today. The swab samples of the four persons were collected on May 25, 2020. A woman among the four persons tested positive for the virus.

While one COVID-19 positive case returned from Maharashtra, another one returned from Andhra Pradesh. Two of them returned from Telengana.

Official sources said these four persons have returned to Gajapati District on May 16 and 17. They were Intercepted at nakka points and shifted to temporary medical camp (TMC).

The sources added these four persons are the close contacts of previously identified COVID-19 positive case.

All of them have been shifted to COVID Hospital, R.Sitapur after receipt of COVID-19 positive report from the laboratory, the sources added.
