Odisha skating kids donate Rs 50, 500 to CMRF for Nepal quake victims

Bhubaneswar, May 4:

Sharing the grief of the people of Nepal who died in thousands in a devastating earthquake on April 25, the Odisha Roller Skating Academy and Kendrapara Credit Cooperative Society today donated money to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

A team of 13 young skaters of the Academy, led by their coach Parthasarathi Jena, met chief minister Naveen Patnaik at his chamber at the State Secretariat here and handed him a cheque of Rs 50,500.

The team, having children in the age group of 3-13 years, had collected the money while skating at several places in the capital city.

Besides, president of Kendrapara Credit Cooperative Society, Pramod Kumar Sahu handed the chief minister a cheque of Rs one lakh.

The chief minister thanked the gestures of Behera and the skating team to the quake-hit victims of the Himalayan Kingdom.
