Odisha skating team bags Guinness World Records title; felicitated

Bhubaneswar:  A 13-member team of Odisha Roller Skating Association (ORSA) has bagged the Guinness Book of World Records title in recognition of the players’ 48-hour nonstop roller skating at Largest Roller Skating Lesson held at Belgavi in Karnataka on November 10, 2018.

A total of 545 skaters from various States across the country had participated in the international event.

Governor Ganeshi Lal congratulated the team for the achievement and felicitated all the players at a special function held at Raj Bhavan here today. The team has skaters from various districts across the State.

ORSA is the apex State body for roller skating sports recognised by Sports and Youth Services Department, Odisha Council of Sports and Odisha Olympic Association. Coach Panchanana Behera and ORSA secretary Partha Sarathi Jena were present at the felicitation ceremony among others.
