Odisha: S&ME department signs 2 transformative pacts to integrate experimental learning

Bhubaneswar: Taking a significant leap towards revolutionising education in Odisha, the School & Mass Education department on Wednesday inked two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to integrate experiential learning into the school education sector.

In an effort to introduce aspirational curriculum in all transformed high schools, the State government’s Mo School Abhiyan joined forces with Magicbus India Foundation.

Simultaneously, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) forged an alliance with the Khan Academy, aiming to enhance math learning outcomes across all OAVs in the State.

The signing of MoUs took place at conference hall of Odisha State Education Programme Authority, in the presence of S&ME Minister Sudam Marndi and Commissioner-cum-Secretary Aswathy S.

The aim of Mo School and Magicbus India Foundation MOU is to support the introduction of aspirational curriculum in all transformed high schools of the State by implementing a sports-integrated and activity-based life skills education programme.

The practical and immersive educational approach will foster students’ holistic growth and prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of the modern world. Through this collaboration, the department endeavours to further strengthen student engagement and participation in aspirational areas by establishing a student-led club system across all secondary schools in the State.

The State government has taken a significant step forward in enhancing math learning outcomes across all OAVs in the State. Through a strategic alliance with Khan Academy, a renowned online education platform, OAV aims to redefine the way students approach and excel in mathematics.

Leveraging cutting-edge technology, this partnership will empower students with innovative learning tools and resources to unlock their full potential.

Addressing the gathering, Marndi highlighted the commendable efforts made by the State in effectively implementing the 5T High School Transformation Programme. In relation to the implementation of aspirational curriculum in all secondary schools across the State, he said, “This strategic step aims to enhance the quality of education by providing a curriculum that is both relevant and engaging, while also aligning with the aspirations and goals of our students. This holistic approach will ensure that our students receive an education that equips them effectively for their future endeavours, empowering them to pursue their aspirations with confidence and determination.”

SPD-OSEPA Anupam Saha and Member Secretary, Mo School Durga Prasad Mohapatra, SPD-OAVS, Chief Executive Officer of Mo School Amarjit Jena, Chief Executive Officer of Magicbus India Foundation Jayant Rastogi, Regional Director Akshaya Kumar Biswal and Government Partnership Head of Khan Academy Shubhra Mittal were among the eminent dignitaries.
