Odisha: Special arrangements made for candidates appearing for JEE (Main), NEET

Bhubaneswar: Special arrangements have been made for candidates appearing for all-India JEE (Main) and NEET (UG) exams in Bhubaneswar and Berhampur cities of Odisha.

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) set up eight accommodation facilities for the candidates having exam centre in Bhubaneswar. As per reports, there are six centres for the two entrance exams in the city.

Special officials will be appointed by the BMC at each accommodation facility to inspect whether COVID-19 guidelines are followed. Also, arrangements will be made for sanitization at each centre.

Three-tier security arrangement will be made at the exam centres. Police personnel will be exclusively deployed to provide security inside the centre and outside, and make arrangement for smooth movement of traffic.

The BMC will urge people not to gather outside the exam centres through mikes, said an official.
Auto-rickshaws will be engaged outside the exam centres to ferry candidates to and from the exam centres.

Similarly, the Ganjam District Administration provided details of the accommodation facilities for candidates of the two all-India entrance tests.

Also, the district administration said it will arrange bus from ITI Berhampur to Bhubaneswar for JEE (Main) exam. Bus will leave from ITI at 12.30 PM on August 31. Candidates have been asked to call the Nodal Officer on 094382 93909 till 8 PM on August 30 to avail the benefit.

It is worth mentioning the JEE (Main) will be held September 1-6, 2020 while the NEET (UG) will be conducted on September 13, 2020.

Yesterday, the Odisha government stated there will be no lockdown or shutdown in the State from August 30 to September 7 and from September 12 to 14 to facilitate smooth movement of candidates and guardians and persons providing logistics associated with JEE (Main) and NEET (UG).
