Odisha sprint queen Dutee bags bronze in AAC

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ace sprinter Dutee Chand this evening bagged bronze in the 100 meter event during the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships held at Kalinga Stadium here.

Dutee clocked 11.52 sec to clinch the bronze.

“I am extremely happy to have won bronze in the 100 meter category. I had not participated in this event earlier in the Asian Athletics Championships. I was expecting to perform better than this. But, rains affected the performance. Still I am happy to have bagged bronze. I thank my wellwishers for supporting me,” an elated Dutee told media.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated Dutee on her feat at the sporting event.

“Odisha is proud of you,” Naveen Patnaik expressed.

Kazakhstani sprinters Viktoriya Zyabkina and Olga Safronova won gold and silver medal respectively in the 100 m event.
