Odisha: Srimandir to remain closed for devotees till April 14

Puri: Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the administration of Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri today decided to shut the shrine for devotees till April 14. Earlier, the temple administration, SJTA, decided on March 19 to close the shrine till March 31. Today a decision was taken by the SJTA to extend the temple closure period.

Only servitors will be allowed inside the temple to perform rituals of the deities as usual.

Pujapanda servitors have been wearing masks and performing the rituals. Footfalls to the pilgrim town have decreased drastically after the state government issued guidelines for maintaining social distancing to contain the spreading of coronavirus.
