Odisha: Summer vacation proves costly as 2 sisters drown while taking bath

Nuapada:  Summer vacation cost two sisters of their lives in Nuapada district after they drowned while taking bath in a pond near their uncle’s house at Nuapada village under Khadial police limits yesterday.

The deceased duo has been identified as Shhetal Baghel and her sister Tanisha, residents of Raipur in Chhattisgarh. Their bodies were handed over to their family members this morning.

Sources said the two sisters, who were minors, had come to Nuapada to visit their uncle’s house in summer vacation. On Wednesday evening, the two girls had gone to a nearby pond with their grandmother to take a bath. However, the two sisters slipped into deep water and drowned.

Meanwhile, police have registered am unnatural death case in this connection.

Natives of Mohara village in Nuapada district, the two sisters were staying with their family in Raipur for the last 15 years, sources added.
