Odisha: Surat returnee dies during home quarantine

Baripada: A Surat returnee hailing from Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district died while being under home quarantine today. The deceased has been identified as Paresh Chandra Mohanta of Tarasole village in Betnoti area of the district.

According to information, Mohanta was put under 7 days of institutional quarantine at Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya quarantine centre, Betnoti after his arrival in Odisha from Surat. Later, he was allowed for home quarantine.

However, he breathed his last at his residence this morning, after three days of home quarantine. The deceased’s wife has lodged a complaint with Betnoti police urging the IIC to probe into the matter and take steps towards ascertaining the reason behind the death.
