Odisha: Suryanagar patient recovers from COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: Good news about COVID-19 in Odisha. The positive case no. 5 who was admitted at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar on March 31, 2020 was discharged yesterday.

Official sources said the case no -5 is a 60-year-old male and resident of Suryanagar in Bhubaneswar. He tested negative twice for COVID – 19 on April 6 & 8. However, he was under treatment for other ailments and yesterday he was discharged from the Hospital after getting recovered from his illness.

The patient was admitted in AIIMS, Bhubaneswar in a critical condition with history of Asthma, Diabetes Mellitus and hypertension and suspected symptoms of COVID -19. He tested positive for COVID-19 on April 1. The patient was kept in COVID isolation ward on ventilator at the time of initial admission and later on shifted to COVID ward. The patient was on ventilator up to April 18.

Official sources added during the course of treatment, the patient’s condition kept on fluctuating and he was provided higher antibiotics and ICU level monitoring.

But he recovered from the ailments and discharged from the hospital yesterday, the sources added.
