Odisha tableau adjudged the best in Judges Choice category in Republic Day parade

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The tableau of Odisha was adjudged today as the best in the Judges Choice category for Republic Day Contingent (RDC), which was held in New Delhi on January 26. However, the tableau of Gujarat was selected as the best one in the People’s Choice category in the parade.

Selections were made amongst all states and Union Territories (UTs), who participated in the RDC.

Gujarat got the second prize in the Judges Choice category followed by Tamil Nadu (third) and Uttar Pradesh bagged the second prize in the People’s Choice category followed by Andhra Pradesh (third).

The Ministry of Culture (MoC) tableau was shortlisted as the best in the Judges Choice category and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) received the best prize in the People’s Choice category among ministries/departments.

Similarly, the Sikh Regiment became the Best Marching Contingent from Services in the Judges Choice category and the Rajputana Rifles was adjudged the best in the People’s Choice category.

Likewise, the women’s wing of Delhi Police was placed at the top for Best Marching Contingent from CAPFs/ Auxiliary Forces in the Judges Choice category and the women’s wing of CRPF in the People’s Choice category.

Notably, special prizes were given to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and Vande Bharatam dance group in the non-competitive category.
