Odisha targets to provide Aadhaar card to all by June 2017

Odisha government is targeting to provide Aadhaar card to all by end of June this year.

While the target was to have around 4.43 crore Aadhaar registrations in Odisha, total 3.90 crore people have been registered to avail the UID card so far.

Chairing a review meeting at State Secretariat yesterday on status of Aadhaar registration, Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi directed the officials to complete the Aadhaar registration process by three months to provide the card to remaining 53 lakh people in the state.

He directed to register all the children upto 5 year-old and age group between 5-18 by organizing camps near the anganwadis and schools.

To meet the target, 1700 machines have been kept ready. The Aadhaar registration process will be completed by next two to three months, UID Authority Additional DG MVS Rami Reddy told media.
