Odisha teacher accuses clerk of sexually harassing her

Rayagada: A woman teacher of Gudari High School in Odisha’s Rayagada district has accused a clerk of District Education Officer’s office of sexually harassing her.

According to reports, the teacher was earlier suspended this year after a class-X student of the school failed to fill up form for the annual Matric examinations. The accused, identified as Satyanarayan Bisoyi, had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the teacher to revoke her suspension.

Bisoyi had also allegedly forced the teacher to have physical relation with him. She has further alleged that Bisoyi was harassing her over telephone.

The teacher met district Collector Pramod Kumar Behera today and apprised the official about her ordeal. “I have ordered for a probe into the incident. The Harassment Committee will conduct an investigation and action will be taken accordingly,” the Collector said.
