Odisha Teachers’ Eligibility Test question leak; 7 arrested, Rs 40, 000 seized

Seven persons have been arrested in connection with the leakage of Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET) question papers and an amount of Rs 40,700 seized from them, informed Gajapati SP Satyajit Nayak today.

These persons had allegedly printed fake question papers of the OTET examinations that was conducted across the state yesterday and were nabbed while selling them to potential examinees at Tatipiti village under Gurandi police limits in Gajapati district on Saturday, Nayak said.

In a statement issued late on Saturday evening, tThe Board of Secondary Education, which conducts the OTET examination, had maintained that there was no leakage of OTET question papers as was reported from Gajapati district. “All question papers in the eight examination centres in the district have been found intact,” the Board had said in a communiqué.

The OTET examinations was held at 207 centres across the state peacefully on Sunday and a total of 93,952 candidates appeared for the test.
