Kendrapara: The Kendrapara district administration today declared a shutdown in the District Headquarters Hospital for three days. The move comes after some doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital tested positive for the deadly COVID-19.

Kendrapara Sub-Collector Jyotishankar Mohapatra said the hospital will remain shut from 4 pm on September 22, 2020 to 4 pm on September 25, 2020. However, emergency services and fever clinic will remain open during the shutdown period, he added.

Till now, 4,143 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in Kendrapara district. While the number of active cases stands at 1,177 in the district, a total of five COVID-19 patients succumbed to the virus. As many as 2,960 patients have recovered from the viral infection so far.
