Odisha: Three go missing after boat capsizes in Brahmani river

Dhenkanal: Three persons went missing after a boat in which they were travelling capsized in Brahmani river this evening.

Reportedly, seven villagers were crossing the river in the boat near Khadagaprasad village under Motanga police limits under Parjang block. However, due to strong water current, the boat overturned in the middle of the river. While four persons of the seven passengers managed to reach the shore near Kundandeipur, three went missing in Brahmani river.

After receiving information, the Dhenkanal district administration swung into action. The district Collector Bhumesh Chandra Behera directed Sub Collector and the rescuers to intensify the search and rescue operation.

As per latest reports, efforts were on to trace the missing persons.
