Odisha: Three VLWs suspended over PMAY irregularities

Khordha: The Khordha district administration today suspended three Village Level Workers (VLWs) for their alleged involvement in irregularities in construction of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme in Podadihi village under Begunia block.

Khordha District Collector Sitanshu Kumar Rout placed VLWs Narayan Jena, Jayadeb Subuddhi and Kedar Behera under suspension for the alleged irregularities. This apart, Rout issued show-cause notices to Begunia Block Development Officer (BDO) Rabi Narayan Majhi and Additional Block Development Officer (ABDO) Mahendra Jena.

When charges were made regarding irregularities in implementation of the central housing scheme in Podadihi, the district administration ordered an inquiry. The district administration took the disciplinary action after getting the inquiry report.

Earlier, the district Collector had suspended a Panchayat Extension Officer on similar charges.
