Night curfew in 20 more Odisha districts from April 17; weekend shutdown in 10 districts

Bhubaneswar: At a time when the number of coronavirus positive cases rise each passing day, the Odisha government today decided to impose a night curfew in urban areas of 20 more districts to curb the spread of the virus.

Chief Secretary SC Mahapatra announced the night curfew will come into force in urban areas including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack from 9 pm to 5 am from April 17.

He further added weekend shutdown will be imposed in urban areas of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri districts from coming Saturday for an indefinite period.

The Chief Secretary also stated the timings of the night curfew in these 10 districts will be from 6 pm to 5 am from tomorrow instead of 10 PM to 6 AM as announced earlier.
