Odisha to deploy lecturers as squads in matric exam

Bhubaneswar: Making a major reform to check malpractice, Odisha government has decided to deploy the lecturers as squads during the annual matric examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE).

As per the move, the junior college lecturers will be part of the flying squad and special squad.

This year, a total of 102 lecturers will be engaged as squads, of them, 58 will be in the flying squad and 44 in the special squad.

Apart from the matric examination, these squads will be assigned for the open school examinations.

Sources said that the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education has directed all the government and private aided college authorities for coordination for smooth conduct of the annual Class 10 examination. The lecturers, who are in the special squad, have been asked to reach the Secondary Board High School by 11.00 am on Feb 20 in Cuttack. The flying squad members have been asked to report to the concerned district education officers at 11.00 am on Feb 21.

The college authorities have been asked to take initiative to release the lecturers, who have been selected in the squads for the matriculation examination, scheduled from Feb 22 to March 8. Also Read: Odisha Matric Exam-2019 schedule announced. Check here

On the other hand, the Higher Secondary Education Director Sunderlal Seal has directed all the government, private, non-aided, self-financing and junior college authorities to install biometric devices on their college premises ahead of 2019-20 academic session.
