Odisha to lure China investors during Make in India meet in Dec

China has evinced interest to participate in the upcoming two-day Make in India conference in Odisha capital in December first week this year.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi today held discussions with representatives of India China Trade & Culture Centre, SK Ray, Consul (Commercial), Indian Consulate, Shanghai and Sarat Kumar Sahoo, Chairman, Odisha Industry Federation at the secretariat here.

Chinese representatives expressed that they are encouraged by the new IPR policy and ‘ease of doing business environment’ introduced in Odisha for which they are willing to participate in the forthcoming Make in India conference on December 1-2.

Padhi urged them to bring investors from sectors like light engineering, electronic products, and food processing as Odisha has many strength and opportunities in these sectors.

The members of the Chinese delegation proposed to come up with a group of 30 potential investors, an official said.
