Odisha to lure Gujarat investors in textile sector at Surat meet

Buoyed by the response at Bengaluru Investors’ meet recently, Odisha government is set to organize similar fair at Gujarat’s textile hub Surat to lure investors to set up shops in the state.

According to sources, an investors’ meet and workshop will be organized in the premises of Spinning Mills Federation Ltd (SPINFED) for which South Gujarat Chambers of Commerce has extended all necessary help for the event to be organised on September 16.

Notably, this is a first such initiative in the handloom, handicraft and textile sector.

“More than 100 investors from Gujarat are expected to participate in the meet,” SPINFED MD AP Das said.

It may be mentioned here that the state government has given greater emphasis on the development of the sector in its Industrial Policy Resolution-2015.
