Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra reviewed the State's preparedness for Disaster Management at the conference hall of Lok Seva Bhawan today.

During a meeting of the Executive Council of the State Disaster Management Authority, the Development Commissioner directed for capacity enhancement and expanding contours of Fire Service units.

As per the decision, hi-tech equipments will be procured to increase efficiency of Fire Services department and Rs 39.58 crore budget has been approved for the purpose.

To increase the skills of ODRAF units, hi-tech equipments will be procured at the cost of Rs 65.35 crore, official sources said.

This apart, it was decided in the meeting to construct buildings for the newly formed 10 ODRAF units at the cost of Rs 34 crore.
