Bhubaneswar: ST & SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department in Odisha has extended financial assistance to the ST & SC students pursuing higher studies under Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protshan Yojana (MMCPY).
Under the scheme, the state will reimburse the entire course fees of eligible ST and SC students studying MBBS and engineering (B-Tech and M-Tech) at various government-run institutions.
The course fees include admission charge /seat acceptance charge, initial deposit, Annual Course Fee (Tuition Fee and all compulsory payble charges to the institution), Hostel Admission charges and annual Hostel/Mess charges and any other incidental expenses for study like purchase of books/study materials coaching /tutorial expenses, said an official today.
All such expenses duly signed by the Dean/Head of the institution and student may be forwarded to the District Collector for reimbursement under the scheme, added the official.
For all eligible ST and SC students from the year 2023-24 onwards, the entire component as described above shall be borne by the state government said departmental Commissioner-cum-Secretary Roopa Roshan Sahoo in a letter to all district Collectors.
