Odisha to set up Science Park in districts!

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to promote science and technology in district level, Odisha government decided to set up Science Park in districts.

With an aim to make people literate in science apart from promoting it, the government had decided to establish Science Centre/Park in district level, an official source said.

The Science and Technology department has started taking initiative in this regard under a sub scheme of State Council on Science & Technology.

According to reports, the government will provide assistance for the proposed science centre in the next five years. The district development authorities or the civic bodies or the special planning authorities will be assigned for the maintenance of the science park in the concerned district.

An agreement will be signed between the concerned organisation and State government for setting up the science centre in the districts showing interest to take care of the project.

Presently, the Science Park is functional in Bhubaneswar and Dhenkanal.
