Bhubaneswar: There will be 50 years of development in Odisha in five years, said Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.

The rapid development will take place in Odisha with the support of people, who expect a lot from the new government, Majhi told media while interacting with the public at the State Guest House here today.

"The government was changed in Odisha after 24 years. In previous years, people suffered a lot as the way the government should have performed its duty and delivered the results, it failed. The CM in the previous government was keeping a distance from people. He was not interacting with them, nor hearing their grievances. People wanted a change and therefore, it happened," he said, describing himself as 'people's CM'.

During interaction with people, he assured them that he would try his best to meet the expectations of people of all sections.

"As I have come from a grassroots level, I can connect with people, and understand their issues. The path to address their issues would be cleared if I met people and listened to them. I am receiving their valuable suggestions, and they have a lot of expectations from the new government to bring change in Odisha," the CM said, assuring to take the state to a new height.
