Odisha Tourism bags two awards at IATO convention at Indore

Odisha Tourism bagged two awards at the three-day annual convention of IATO held at the Grand Bhagawati Palace in Indore which concluded on Saturday.

Odisha Tourism bagged two awards–Best Stall and Most Valuable Partner—in these categories.

Addressing the audience, Odisha Tourism & Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda spoke about the tourism potential of Odisha and highlighted air connectivity from Bhubaneswar to Varanasi with special focus on East and North-East states in promoting these states.

More than 1200 delegates comprising tour operators, travel agents, airline operators, decision makers, Central and state government officials and other stake holders from across the country and overseas participated in it.

On the second day of the national event, Tourism Director Anil Kumar Samal gave a state presentation and vividly highlighted the strength of Odisha Tourism, new incentives and strategy for promotion among others. He also elaborated on the Shamuka Project, Eco-Tourism projects at Chilika lake and recently launched Light and Sound show at Dhauli.

Besides,  Samal and Dr. R.K. Pattanayak, Tourist Officer from Odisha Tourism, attended the event.

Notably, the convention was inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of Tourism & Culture Dr. Mahesh Sharma in the presence of Minister of State, Tourism and Culture, Madhya Pradesh and Minister of Tourism & culture, Odisha, Ashok Chandra Panda.
