Odisha train accident: CM announces free bus service to Kolkata

Bhubaneswar: In view of disruption in train services to Howrah due to major train accident at Bahanaga in Balasore district, Odisha Government offered free bus service to commuters to Kolkata.

Putting one step ahead to help railway commuters, who are facing difficulties to reach their destination due to inconveniences caused by the train accident in Balasore district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced free bus service to Kolkata from Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack from today.

The entire cost will be met from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), a CMO release stated.

Around 50 buses provide transport service daily to Kolkata from Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack in Odisha.

The free bus service will continue till restoration of train services on Balasore route.

Worth mentioning that the restoration work is underway near Bahanaga Bazar Station under Kharagpur Railway Division following the massive train accident that left 288 people dead and over 1000 injured on June 2 evening.
