Odisha: Training on sport climbing at Kalinga Stadium from tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) will impart training on sport climbing to children in the age group of 10 to 16 years at the Kalinga Stadium here from tomorrow.

National and international level professionals have been roped in to conduct the training that will be conducted at the High-Performance Center for Sport Climbing of the stadium. The centre was set up by IMF in collaboration with Odisha Sports Department earlier this month.

Registration for the first batch training that had begun on July 18. The training aims at spreading awareness about the sport and identifying athletes at an early age, said IMF Director MP Yadav.

Sport climbing is now an Olympic discipline and will debut in 2020 in Tokyo, he added.
