Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will establish a trauma care centre at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Nuapada.
The state government has sanctioned Rs 75.70 crore for this purpose. Steps are being taken to implement the project as soon as possible, said a senior official of the Health department today.
The trauma care centre will be of Level-III standard. It will have modern equipment, ICUs, laboratory and other facilities, he added.
“The proposed trauma care centre will have all facilities in accordance with the rules laid by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,” said the official.
At present, the state has 106 trauma care centres at government-run hospitals while 18 such centres are available at private healthcare facilities.
“The trauma care centres at government-run hospitals are providing free treatment to road accident victims,” added the official.
