Bhubaneswar: Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department today suspended the empanelment of Trisha Hospital under BSKY following an inferno that occurred yesterday under Purighat police limits in Cuttack.

The step was taken as a joint inquiry by H&FW and Fire departments is underway, a notification issued in this regard mentioned.

A 7-day-old baby, who was previously shifted to Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack after the fire mishap in Trisha Hospital, died earlier today while undergoing treatment. The deceased newborn belonged to Chandbali locality of Bhadrak district.

Worth mentioning, a fire broke out at the private child health facility in the city and several newborns were affected in the incident due to thick smoke.

At least 30 patients, including 12 babies, were evacuated as fire broke out in the hospital.
