Akshaya Tritiya (Akshaya Trutiya) or Akha Teej is an auspicious and holy day for both Hindus and Jains. It is a very fortunate day to buy new property or start a new venture; a day when farmers start tilling their lands and sow the seeds for the next season. In Puri, preparations for the Rath Yatra begin today and so does Chandan Yatra.
Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik also used the hashtag #AkshayaTrutiya and greeted all the Odia's on the auspicious ocassion.

While the frenziness for gold ornaments has slightly overshadowed the traditional and socio-cultural aspect of this festival, we are glad that Twitter has added another dimension to the festival.
Going by the media coverage it is in jewelry shops across #Odisha#AkshayaTrutiyahttps://t.co/8LEnszMXi5
