Odisha: Two brothers killed in road mishap

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, two brothers were killed when the motorcycle they were riding met with a mishap on Damasahi-Khunta road in Kushalda area of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha today.

The deceased have been identified as Sarat Chandra Singh (28) and Rama Chandra Singh (27) of Kushalda. Another person named Pudugu Marandi sustained critical injuries in the mishap, sources said.

According to sources, the mishap took place when the two brothers along with Pudugu were returning home from Jayapur on a bike at around 1 pm.

The bike fell off the road when the rider lost control over it, sources said. Sarat and Rama died on the spot while locals rescued Pudugu in a critical condition and rushed him to a nearby hospital.

On being informed, Kushalda outpost police reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.

“We have registered a case in this regard and seized the bike,” said a police officer.
