Odisha: Two minor boys go missing in Brahmani while taking bath

Rourkela: In a saddening incident, two minor boys went missing while taking bath in Brahmani river in Rourkela city today. Though the Chandiposh police and Fire Service personnel launched a rescue operation, the two minor boys were yet to be traced.

The missing minor boys were identified as Ayan Tok and Prasanna Sahu from Basanti Colony of the city.

Ayan and Prasanna along with some other students of a private coaching centre and their teachers had gone to Birutola to organize a picnic today morning. When some students were taking bath in Brahmani river, four of them got swept away in the strong current of water.

Spotting the four students in deep water, some locals jumped into river and rescued two students. However, Ayan and Prasanna could not be rescued.

Interestingly, teachers of the private coaching centre fled the spot following the incident.

A pall of gloom descended in Chandiposh area after the two minor boys went missing in Brahmani river.

On September 20, two engineering students drowned in Badalgiri waterfall in Gurundia.
