Berhampur: Two sisters allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at Gudiali village under Kabisuryanagar police station in Ganjam district today.

The deceased have been identified as Deepa Bhuyan and Jita Bhuyan.

Sources said the two girls took the extreme step following a fight over a trivial issue this morning. While one died undergoing treatment at hospital in Aska, another died on the way to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and began a probe into the incident.
