Odisha: Two women among 3 killed; 1 critical in car-truck collision

Sundergarh: In a fatal road accident, three persons, including two women, were killed and another suffered critical injuries in a collision between a car and a truck on Biju Expressway near Jarangloi village in Sundergarh district last night.

The deceased have been identified as Sajjan Agrawal, Urmila Devi and Nirmala Devi. The injured woman identified as Sangeeta Agrawal has been admitted to hospital for treatment.

Sources said the four persons hailing from Biramitrapur area had gone to Sambalpur to attend a cultural event yesterday. While returning at around 11 PM yesterday, the car they were travelling in hit a truck from the behind. While three died on the spot, critically injured Sangeeta was first rushed to Sundergarh district headquarters hospital (DHH) and later shifted Rourkela.

It is suspected that the accident occurred due to speed driving by the car driver, who fled the spot after the accident.
