Odisha: Two women including ASHA worker killed, another injured in road mishap

Dhenkanal: Two women were killed and another injured when a car they were travelling in overturned in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today afternoon. The deceased were identified as Neerai Das from Mathakaragala village in the district and ASHA worker Laxmi Naik. Driver of the vehicle is absconding following the incident.

The injured, Puspanjali Behera, Neerai and Laxmi Naik were returning home in the car after an ultrasound of Puspanjali at a private clinic in Dhenkanal town. Unfortunately the car carrying the three women and the driver overturned into a farmland near Khatua Hata under Pandua police outpost.

Locals rushed the three injured to the Dhenkanal Disrict Headquarters Hospital where Neerai and Laxmi succumbed. Puspanjali sustained grievous injuries on her head and was later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
