Odisha: Umerkote police nabs three more persons for defrauding job aspirants

Bhubaneswar: In a major success, a special team of the Umerkote police on Saturday arrested three more persons on charges of duping youths of more than Rs 1 crore on the promise of providing them jobs. Earlier, three other persons including a woman social activist were nabbed in connection with the defrauding case.

The three arrested were prime accused Soubhagya Guru from Jiranga village in Gajapati district, Sunil Kumar Ray from Pipili and Sagar Kumar Jena of Nuagaon in Jagatsinghpur district. They were operating their job racket operations from Saheed Nagar area of Bhubaneswar, said a police official.

Four laptops, four mobile phones and three bank passbooks were seized from the possession of the three accused too.

Worth mentioning, following the arrest of the woman social activist along with her husband and an associate on September 29, Nabarangpur SP Nitin Kusalkar had formed the special team to nab the mastermind behind the job racket.
