The Odisha unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the newly-elected presidents for 30 of 36 organisational districts in the state.

After four-day open house consultations, the leaders arrived at consensus and the names were declared yesterday. The selection of district presidents were conducted in the presence of national BJP general secretary Arun Singh and joint general secretary (organisation) Sudan Singh.

Presidents of the six districts including Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Sambalpur could not be finalised and will be announced later. For the first time, presidents for block and district committees were chosen through open house consultations.
