Repeated notifications by Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (Rusa) for utilisation of funds disbursed to the government education institutes for the financial year 2015-16 have fallen to deaf ears which might lead to stoppage of funds next year.
If they will be not give the required fund utilisation then strict action will be taken for the 2016-2017 year, the higher education department has warned. The education institutions have failed to spend the money they have received as fund. Therefore, they are not submitting the utilization certificates, according to sources.
Higher education department has said that Union Ministry of Human Resource Development is putting pressure on them to get the institution fill up the financial expenditure, according to reports. Or else funding to colleges and universities will be stopped.
The Odisha state higher education department has asked the eight universities and 94 colleges in the state to submit the detailed expenditure details along with photograph and video of the work signed by the university or college head.
